Hope, B.C.
I grew up in a small town in Northern Obtario. As a child, one of my favourite pastimes was art and making things with my hands. This love of art has been a constant joy throughout my life. After raising a family, I became very focused on doing pottery, especially "Raku" pottery, and continue to do so. In the past few years I've also been creating art pieces put of paper collage and painting with oils. I especially enjoy the texture and depth of colour that can be achieved with these mediums. Both my pottery and paintings reflect my love of centemporary and abstract art.

Studio Three Pottery
My love of pottery began in high school art classes. At this time I also attended the Elliot Lake School of the Arts where I had my first "Raku Experience". In recent years that interest has been rekindled. Slowly through books, videos, workshops, friends and a lot of hands-on experience I've gained the needed skills. Classes with John Cloutier of Vancouver, (Raku Basics) and Herman Venema of Mission have been essential to my growth as a potter.
I love to take an idea, create it with my hands out of clay and then to be able to see and touch it. I love the shapes, textures and colours that can be achieved in pottery. Other people's appreciation of my work has allowed me to go from a box of clay in a friend's garage to having a small workshop and raku kiln area that I share with my best friend and partner, Trudy Feely.
